The Science of reading
We are Built on the Science of Reading
Everything we teach is rooted in decades of literacy research—not trends.
Our instruction includes:
Explicit phonics instruction, Phonemic awareness, Decoding, Encoding (spelling), Fluency, Vocabulary, Reading comprehension, Writing instruction, Morphology, Oral language
Every lesson is intentionally designed to strengthen the skills that create lifelong readers.
FAQ
Why 12 weeks?
Because consistent instruction produces stronger results than occasional tutoring. A lot of lessons inside The Story Circle have themes. We really pride ourselves on our students being engaged; therefore, we walk our students through a whole curriculum.

FAQ
Is this tutoring?
The Story Circle is a structured literacy enrichment program designed around explicit instruction and skill-building, rather than strictly homework help.
How many students are in each group?
Small groups allow individualized support while creating an engaging learning environment. No more than 4 students.
FAQ
Does my child need to be “struggling?”
No.
Many students join to strengthen foundational skills, prevent learning gaps, or continue growing as readers.
FAQ
What happens if we miss a class?
We understand that absences happen, but we do ask that you give your absolute effort to make each session. In the event of an absence, The Story Circle will hold one Saturday a month for a make-up session. It will be open to everyone who missed during that month and divided up by grade level. Days and times will be shared upon enrollment.
Who we serve
Perfect for students who: struggle with reading, need extra support, have lost confidence, need stronger phonics skills, need reading comprehension support, need writing supports, simply need more structured literacy practice.
